100 Days Mark!

Dear Saint John's Families,

February seemed to have flown by and March is now upon us. We are now 2 days away from officially entering our last trimester of the 2020-21 school year, and, for 8 ^th  graders, this is their last trimester at Saint John's! The kids have grown so fast.  I know from experience that for some reason, these next 3 months seem to go by in a blink of an eye and summer break and graduation will be here before we know it.

Let us not let these next three months get away from us. I would like to make a simple request. For the next 25 days before Spring Break, will you find a student and let him or her know how amazing he/she is.
Every student is doing something great, so let us celebrate it. After 25 days, I bet it will be a habit, and it will continue well through the school year. Let us make the most of every single day and enjoy these students!

SPIRIT WEAR & NO SCHOOL:
March 4, 2021 is Spirit Day Wear. There is no school on March 5, 2021 for our Teacher Workshop. 

Fish Fry, Round 2!
Thank you to all who participated in our first-ever Fish Fry Curbside last Friday, in partnership with Green Mill of Woodbury . Since it was so well received, we are ADDING a third fish fry this Lent to benefit Saint John's Athletics.  March 12 and 19; pick-up available in 30-minute slots 4:30-6:30 PM. Must register and order in advance. Sign up here:  www.sjolc.org/fish-fry.    Registration is open now for March 12 , we are able to offer curbside pick-up to go, even with the increased COVID restrictions regarding dining and access in our school. But we need you to sign up! Registration is open now for March 12, and will open on March 13 for the March 19 event.

SPRING CONFERENCES:
Our spring parent-teacher conferences, for grades K-8, are scheduled for March 23 & 25, 2021. (Preschool conferences will be later and communicated to you by the preschool teachers.) This presents a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress in school. As you are aware, home-school communication is an important factor in your child’s success in school.  Be on the lookout soon for communication on signing up for a virtual conference, if you would like to schedule one for your child(ren).

Discipleship 'Sundae':
Save the date for our Parish Community's next Discipleship Sunday, which features free childcare for ages 0-5 and a fun ice cream sundae activity for older kids.  All youth in attendance will receive a free ice cream sundae!  For the adults, Father Tom is also sharing his personal testimony.  Event will be COVID-safe and socially distanced. FINANCIAL AID: APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY                      MARCH, 12, 2021. 
Your application must be submitted and in good standing (all documents turned in and processed by TADS), by March 12, 2021, to be considered for financial aid for next year.  It is imperative you begin the process now so you have enough time to turn in all required documents for the application.  You will find the application in your TADS account.  If you have any questions regarding financial aid, please contact Kathy LaCasse at [email protected].

Virtual Reading Buddy Program in collaboration with Roseville Area High School’s Key Club!
Are you looking for a COVID-safe enrichment opportunity? A chance to help your elementary age kids to practice reading skills in a new way?  Key Club has your back!
Who: All elementary age children are invited! Please feel free to bring your own books.

Tax season is here. Tuition and Eagle Club payment reports can be pulled directly from TADS. Here are the instructions:
1.       Log into your account at https://secure.tads.com
2.       Click on the Billing tab
3.       On the left side of the screen, click on the "Household Paid Tuition Tax Report" link
4.       Enter the proper tax year and click "submit"

SUMMER EAGLE CLUB:
Our summer care program is available to all children ages 3 to 12. Eagle Club is offered from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. We keep children engaged and entertained all summer long through activities like arts and crafts, games, science/STEM, reading and math, nature and, of course, field trips once a week. We maintain and grow a vegetable garden, as well as spend lots of time outside playing and enjoying the nice weather.

COVID PLAN:
PLEASE remind your student that the pandemic is not over yet. As we approach Spring Break, anyone traveling only to or from a COVID hotspot will be required to contact us to discuss a possible quarantine of 5 days. Hotspots include ALL air travel (from the last time you were on an airplane), as well as those updated daily at this website: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view. Important note: This quarantine is for travel only (The color is Red or Dark Blue on the Map). At some point, you might find that you "live" in a hotspot (we're all in the metro area); this update to our protocols is specific to travel only, as our travel habits are different from our lifestyle habits. As always, If your child has symptoms or is awaiting test results PLEASE keep them home. Failure to follow these simple rules has an impact on the whole community.
