Dear Saint John Families, 

I often think about how fulfilling it is to be the Saint John's school leader, especially during a pandemic.  It makes my days better as I continue to hear laughter at recess and in the classrooms.  While serious dedication is a prime factor in student learning, student and staff happiness is also an important part of our success.  We are an amazing community.  We would like to thank  you for  your contributions to our students and teachers- as parents, you inspire us to work hard!

COVID Update:
The past 2 months we had no positive cases of COVID-19, but on Saturday we were informed that 2 students had tested positive. Yesterday, we had another positive case reported at Saint John's.  This week, Ramsey County increase has been questioned in the media, but the continued increasing trend is troubling. If we continue to increase positive cases, per our school protocols, we will need to take the next step in our plan and implement up to 1 week of Virtual Learning around the Thanksgiving Break.   This would not be permanent.
 
PLEASE LIMIT ATTENDANCES AT GROUP EVENTS where a protocol is not going to be followed!  It is critical for everyone at Saint John's to continue with in-person learning .  PLEASE HELP US, by limiting activities and events that do not meet COVID-19 protocols.

BELIEVE AND READ - 8 P.M. NOVEMBER 17!:
Our  Believe and Read literacy program is going strong in its 1st year, and we're excited to showcase it at the Believe and Read Virtual Kindergarten Preview at 8 p.m. November 17! Attendees will hear from Catholic school parents, teachers and principals about the impact of Believe and Read on their emerging readers. The event is  geared toward upcoming kindergarten parents. 
People can  register to receive the Zoom link OR  watch live on CSCOE's Facebook page the night of the event.

SCHULZE EARLY LEARNING SCHOLARSHIP: 
Preschool families, the Schulze Early Learning portal is now open for scholarship applications. BOX TOPS FOR SAINT JOHN'S:
Box Tops are little coupons found on everyday items such as:  Ziploc bags, Betty Crocker frosting, Pillsbury rolls and General Mills cereal, to name a few.  Each one of these coupons is worth ten cents. You and your child will be amazed how quickly those little coupons turn into dollars to help purchase books, materials, and equipment for our school! FALL PORTRAITS - PREPAY RETAKE - ORIGINAL: NOVEMBER 13, 2020:
If your student has not had his/her picture taken yet , go to 
https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry/52795E or complete the form  HERE and have your student bring it with them to give to the photographer. 
For photo retakes: Your student must return the original photos and put them in the designated Inter-State collection basket.  
**Please remember, all students must be in uniform when taking their school pictures.
