We hope you all are coming out to show some Saint John's School pride this week at Canadian Days! See below for a number of ways you, too, can get involved:
Thursday, July 29: Build Our Float Pizza Party
5:30-8:00 P.M. in the School Parking Lot
We're keeping it simple, using existing banners and a flatbed trailer with skirt, but for the crafty among you, we did think adding some balloon arches or school bus elements might be real eye-catchers. Kids are welcome, but childcare is not provided, and we do hope you will put some elbow grease into this construction if you come. (The playground is right across the field!) Please RSVP to Principal Hurley so we can get an accurate count for pizza: [email protected].
Saturday, July 31: Kiddie Games at Spooner Park
11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Spooner Park
Saint John's sponsors the kiddie games at Canadian Days first thing Saturday morning. Our eighth-graders are volunteering, and we'd love to see you there! (We will still take a few more adult volunteers, if you're interested: Contact Laura Haraldson if you're interested or able: [email protected].)
Sunday, Aug. 1: Canadian Days Parade
Lineup at 10:30 A.M. in the Saxon Lanes Parking Lot
Everyone who attends receives a free spirit wear T-shirt, but only the first handful of kids gets to ride the float, so be prompt! We have a contingency of parents with great parade-viewing seating near Donut Hut, where we encourage our families to mingle and enjoy one of summer's finest traditions here in Little Canada.
Then: Save the dates of August 14-15, when Saint John's hosts a booth at Vadnais Heights' Heritage Days.
We can't wait to see you this week and this month!
Dan J. Hurley, Principal
