October ended on a fun note with our Halloween parties! It was great to see the 8th grade class and Mrs. Leciejewski safely adapt the party with social distancing in mind so the students could still enjoy this tradition.
Now that we are well into the school year, I know many of you are anxious for our Parent/Teacher Conferences coming up in the next few weeks. Conferences are great opportunities for dialogue between you and your child’s teacher, emphasizing their outstanding growth, along with some targeted areas for improvement. The virtual conference times will go extremely fast, so if you have further questions following these conferences, I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher. Also, please feel free to send in questions ahead of time so that our teachers can best-prepare for their time with you. At Saint John's, we value open communication, so together, we can continue to positively impact our children and their learning.
COVID-19: Given the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic, I will have a separate email regarding COVID-19 updates on Thursday, November 5, 2020.
TEACHER CONFERENCES: Due to Covid-19 guidelines, all Parent -Teacher Conferences will be held virtually. Parents will receive emails where they will have the opportunity to sign up for conferences electronically with each of the teachers that they wish to conference with. Each conference will be held within a 15 minute virtual meeting. It is imperative that the 15 minute time frame is maintained, so each teacher can stay on schedule. If you feel you need more time with a teacher, please reach out to them to set up an appointment.
STUDENT COUNCIL-FOOD DRIVE: The student council begins collecting donations for our annual food drive next week! Please see the attached flyer for more information.

IN CLOSING: November is an important time for us all to reflect on the many blessings we have. I am certainly thankful for the many blessings in my life, including working with the amazing students, parents/caregivers, teachers, and support staff. I would also like to express my gratitude to families who are going out of their way to show their appreciation to our staff. We have many cards, emails, treats, and lunches showing up at the school to thank the staff for their hard work. Please know all of these extra efforts do not go unnoticed and bring smiles to the faces of our staff!
