As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I have a short story to share which reminds me of what the season is about. My daughters and I went to a Starbucks before school last week. For some reason, the line was short with only three cars (this Starbucks in Woodbury, usually has up to 10-15 cars). As we pulled up to order, my daughters got fancy drinks (foam, whip, chocolate, sprinkles-who knows), and I ordered a coffee. At this Starbucks there is a curve in the lane when you order, so you really cannot see the car at the pay window. We finished our order and drove up to the window. As I opened my window to pay, the lady said, "no need, the car in front paid for you!" Wow! This has never happened to me. It really was a great feeling. My daughter, Brooklyn, yelled, “Dad, pay it forward!” I looked at the lady and proudly said, "do you know what, I am going to pay for the person behind me." She poked her head out the pay window to look, and with a smile said, "I am sorry, sir but there is no one behind you!?" My daughters thought this was the funniest thing, and I was a bit embarrassed. After the laughing stopped, I did provide an extra tip to the employee for working hard in the morning with a smile. As we headed to school, my daughter Alyssa said, “Dad, I do give you a ‘A’ for effort!” I must admit, I had a great feeling all day about this person paying for our drinks. I wish I could have said thank you to the driver. It is awesome the difference we can all make if we take the time to care and show gratitude. Who can you pay it forward to with a random act of kindness today? Next week is Thanksgiving and a short week, so I will not have a newsletter. Thank you for all of your support, and have a great Thanksgiving! ____________________________ THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: We continue our Thanksgiving Food Drive until Friday. At Saint John's, we had the privilege of having Bishop Cozzens preside over our Catholic Schools Week Mass last year. In gratitude and solidarity, we are offering a Rosary at 2:40 PM this Friday, Nov. 19, in the Church. Then we are offering a special Mass of Thanksgiving at 9:10 AM Wednesday, Nov. 24. If you are unable to attend in person, watch our Facebook page, where we will live-stream both of these prayerful opportunities to express gratitude during this Thanksgiving season. ____________________________ REGISTRATION INFORMATION: It's hard to believe it, but 2022-2023 Saint John's enrollment window will open on November 25. We are excited for the future as we are continuing to see growth in our enrollment!
If you have a student currently enrolled in Saint John’s school, you automatically qualify for our Eagle Loyalty Program! Since we already are nearly full in a few classrooms, we want to ensure our Eagle Loyalty (EL) students have the first opportunity to secure their spot for next year in their classroom before we accept new students. Therefore, if you enroll your EL student by December 1, 2021, your child’s spot in his/her class will be guaranteed. As of December 2, we will begin accepting new students for the 2022-2023 school year, which could mean they will procure your child's spot for next year, if you are not already enrolled. There will be a family enrollment fee, which will be assessed when the first child from each family enrolls. The Early Eagle Enrollment Fee is $125/family until January 28, 2022. As of January 29,2022, the Eagle Enrollment Fee increases to $250/family. So, you will save $125/family if you enroll before January 28, 2022. (If you have more than one student, you should only be assessed the enrollment fee on one child. If you get charged again for this, please reach out to Karla Schultz at [email protected], and she can work with you on correcting that.)
Emails will be sent out on November 25 to re-enroll your Eagle Loyalty students for the 2022-2023 school year. PLEASE DO NOT apply again through TADS for Eagle Loyalty students. (Please note: If you have students who will be new to the school next school year, you will have to first fill out an application for admissions. You will find that option in your TADS account. You will only need to do this for new students, your EL students will start at the enrollment step.) Please see HERE for more information on enrollment for 2022-2023.
Please feel free to reach out to Kathy LaCasse at [email protected] if you have any questions as you complete your enrollment for next year. ____________________________ Aim Higher Foundation - Application Now Open More Scholarships. More Students. Stronger Schools
