Teacher Appreciation Week

We had an exciting Saturday!  During the live feed of the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE) Bash, it was announced that Saint John's was chosen to receive the generous drawing for $10,000!  Thank you to all who joined the Facebook Live event, which provided us an entry into this drawing.

This week, we celebrate  teacher appreciation week! I can't say it enough, how thankful I'm for our teachers and staff who have truly worked endlessly to pivot their  classroom style of education to the virtual classroom.  If you get a chance, please take a minute to thank your student's teacher during this week to recognize them! 

End of year “Tasks”
After much consideration and under the guidance of the Archdiocese, we have decided to end the academic year on May 22, 2020. With school being closed, we will be formulating plans and processes for common “end of year” tasks.  We have scheduled the process from May 27-29.  Examples include  locker clean outs, yearbook information and a few other tasks to “close out the year”.  We will be sure to communicate those processes once we have more information on how they will happen.  Challenges include but are not limited to, ensuring the 6 feet social distancing rule, and keeping rooms sterile, but we will have a safe and simple solution for all tasks. 

Final Reminder
Financial Aid Applications are due today, May 4, 2020. If you have not already completed your application, please visit your TADS account and fill out an application or use the TADS link HERE to sign into your account.  Make sure to select the correct year. 

Drop Everything and Read (DEAR)

Mother's Day, May 10, 2020
Please don't forget, we received a promise of a $30,000 match to our Fund-A-Need, which is Tuition Assistance this year.  However, we need to raise $30,000 before May 10th in order to receive this very generous donation. On Mother’s Day, May 10th, beginning at 9:00 a.m., we are opening up bidding on our online auction.  This will include all the items from both our live and silent auctions. You can register and start peeking in at the auction tables today. Click HERE.  

Virtual Olympic Day
We know how much the students look forward to Olympic Day, so the teachers are putting together a plan to have a virtual Olympic Day.  Please mark your calendar for May 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.  We will provide more information in the near future as plans are finalized.  

Eagle Club
We plan to open for Summer Eagle Club.  We understand times, days, and field trips may change, but we will communicate those changes as we become aware of them.  If you are interested in signing up for Summer Care in our Eagle Club Program, please check out the information here. Contact Tricia Kurschner if you have any questions.
