Computers and technology are integrated into every level of learning at Saint John's School of Little Canada. We are a Google Apps for Education or, GAFE school, utilizing Google Classroom and the G-Suite Apps. Each classroom is equipped with Interactive Boards, bringing hands-on learning into the 21st century. The school has a fleet of Chromebooks, so that students can work independently on projects; in fact, grades 3 through 8 have a 1:1 Chromebook-to-student ratio. There are iPads available for use for all grades as well. Upper classes also enjoy use of a 3-D printer in their STEM curriculum and engineering classwork.
Our computer lab is headed by Katya Jaede, who integrates the ISTE (International Society for Technology Education) standards into the k-8 curriculum. The philosophy of Saint John's technology curriculum is to promote critical thinking and individual and collaborative problem solving skills through the exemplary use of computers and technology. Students will have the ability to conduct research, create end products, and communticate with the use of a variety of technology tools.
