Lunch at school is part of the total learning situation and, as such, good conduct and manners are to be expected. Table manners and other lunchroom etiquette are discussed as a regular part of respecting others. Rules are posted in the lunchroom and the classrooms.
CKC is managing our hot lunch program this year. The federally-funded Free Meals for Kids program ended in June 2022, which means that school meals are no longer free for the 2022-23 school year. See below for meal pricing.
Breakfast - no breakfast available this year
Student Lunch $3.90
Milk only $.35
Ordering Hot Lunch
Parents will receive a link in Mr. Hurley’s newsletters to preorder lunches for the upcoming month. We will get these to you as soon as we get them from CKC and will usually be due around the 20th of each month for the upcoming month. Lunches will need to be preordered for the entire month - if your child would like to receive the scheduled lunch. Due to the CKC procedure of charging for every lunch preordered, we have to instill the following policy so the school does not incur additional costs; preordered lunches will be charged to your account regardless if the student does not take the preordered lunch. (This includes if your child is missing school due to an unexcused absence or if they forgot and brought a cold lunch, etc. Exceptions will be made for a child who is home with an illness.) If your child did not preorder lunch but needs a lunch the day of, we will have a shelf stable lunch available for purchase at the same cost as hot lunch.
PayPams
We are using PayPams as our lunch accounting software. Parents will have their own account through PayPams to prepay for lunch for students. Please see below for the basics on how to sign up. Additional information on PayPams is on the flyer linked below.

Educational Benefits
We ask that every family fill out an Application for Educational Benefits (previously Free and Reduced Lunch form). We ask that you fill this out even if you don't believe you will qualify for free/reduced lunches. District funding for our school relies on the information from these applications. Therefore, we need every family to submit one asap, so we do not miss out on any funding available to us. See the link below for the online application.
More information on the Educational Benefits application:
Should you need a paper application, please use the link below, stop in the school office, or notify Kathy LaCasse, klacasse@sjolc.org.
