Thank you to all who donated to, raised money for, and/or attended in-person or virtually the Saint John’s Candy Marathon! We were able to exceed our goal of $25,000! I want to extend a special message of gratitude to students, parents, teachers, staff, and our community. The school was able to raise $37,000!
Grandparent/ Grand friend Day:
As mentioned in my email yesterday, this year, due to COVID-19, we are making this a virtual event so we can keep everyone safe and healthy. Grandparents will visit our Facebook page HERE at 9:10 (grades K-2), 10:10 (grades 3-5) or 11:10 AM (grades 6-8) on September 30, to view a special Mass in honor of the important role of grandparents in our families and school community. It is virtual, so choose to attend one, two, or all three! If families have kids in multiple grade-levels and cannot attend all masses, I will share photos in my next email from all the masses! We are excited to gather virtually to celebrate grandparents. Thank you for sharing this special event with all the grandparents and grand friends in your lives.
COVID Update:
At Saint John’s we have no reported COVID infection cases. I would like to thank all of you for keeping your students home if they are showing any symptoms - even if you think it is allergies, the flu, or other causes. It is better for everyone in our community to err on the side of caution and be safe. Please click here for our current decision tree, which we have shared before. This will help parents make decisions on what to do as we enter allergy and influenza season. As a community, we are all working hard to remain in school for learning. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Karla Schultz at [email protected] or myself at 651 288-3220 or [email protected].
School Mass, now in person:
We are excited to return to church. Students will be divided into three Mass times. K-2 will attend mass at 9:10 a.m., 3rd-5th will attend at 10:10 a.m. and Middle School students will attend Mass at 11:10 a.m. The church will be sanitized after each Mass. All three masses will be live on our Facebook page Here
Box Tops Submission:
The deadline for box tops is approaching. Any box tops you have saved up will need to be turned into the school office by Friday October 9th.
Fine Arts Registration:
Reminder about session for parents: Stress and Anxiety in School-Aged Children:
Even before COVID, anxiety had become the most diagnosed issue in classrooms across this country. Given the stress of this time, with disrupted school and more pressure on families, we are seeing a rise in the stress and anxiety demonstrated by children. In this session, you will learn concrete strategies to help your children become more resilient to stress and to better endure normal anxious feelings. You will also find tips to differentiate “normal” stress and anxiety responses from more serious symptoms, how to intervene without interfering, and when to seek help.
