In my last newsletter, I talked about focusing on family and gratitude. If you are worried that a substantial level of gratitude must come at a high price, fear not. I want to share how my family started incorporating gratitude in our daily life. Developing gratitude is surprisingly easy. (Yet wait another week to check in with my daughters!) Beginning this month, my family is keeping a gratitude journal. Every day, we write about the good things that happened to us. Even when my daughters say they lost their journal, I have them write it down on a piece of paper. The goal is taking a few moments each day to focus on the good in our lives. Furthermore, we all agreed to write a letter of appreciation. I know I sometimes fall short in expressing my gratitude to people who have helped me, particularly those who have helped me without needing anything in return. When I take a minute, it is easy to see, I am touched by others every day. At night, even though my daughters have activities, sometimes until 9:00pm, we talk about our daily gratitude entries. This is often a quick conversation, yet it is a terrific way to end the day. I know for me, dealing with daily tasks such as COVID protocols, completing paperwork, being a taxi driver for my daughter, raking leaves, etc., I must stop, take a deep breath, look up to the sky, and state what in my day is deserving of gratitude. In fact, just in writing this, I found it was easy to change my thoughts. Thank you God for keeping our students, families, and staff healthy, even when they test positive for COVID. I am so grateful to have a job, car, house, family, friends and time to spend time with my daughters talking about how blessed we are. I am thankful to enjoy the great colors of the leaves before they fall. Even though my family has been doing this for 8 days, how fortunate for us that this small daily routine is leading to happiness, and I believe it is a reachable goal for all. Now, my mission for you, take the time to help your family develop an attitude of gratitude, and we can all enjoy each day together at Saint John’s. ___________________________ PARENT CONFERENCES: Reminder, if you have not signed up for conferences, today is the day. We are excited for the future as we are continuing to see growth in our enrollment!
If you have a student currently enrolled in Saint John’s school, you automatically qualify for our Eagle Loyalty Program! Since we already are nearly full in a few classrooms, we want to ensure our Eagle Loyalty (EL) students have the first opportunity to secure their spot for next year in their classroom before we accept new students. Therefore, if you enroll your EL student by December 1, 2021, your child’s spot in his/her class will be guaranteed. As of December 2, we will begin accepting new students for the 2022-2023 school year, which could mean they will procure your child's spot for next year, if you are not already enrolled. There will be a family enrollment fee, which will be assessed when the first child from each family enrolls. The Early Eagle Enrollment Fee is $125/family until January 28, 2022. As of January 29,2022, the Eagle Enrollment Fee increases to $250/family. So, you will save $125/family if you enroll before January 28, 2022. (If you have more than one student, you should only be assessed the enrollment fee on one child. If you get charged again for this, please reach out to Karla Schultz at [email protected], and she can work with you on correcting that.)
Emails will be sent out on November 25 to re-enroll your Eagle Loyalty students for the 2022-2023 school year. PLEASE DO NOT apply again through TADS for Eagle Loyalty students. (Please note: If you have students who will be new to the school next school year, you will have to first fill out an application for admissions. You will find that option in your TADS account. You will only need to do this for new students, your EL students will start at the enrollment step.) Please see HERE for more information on enrollment for 2022-2023.
Please feel free to reach out to Kathy LaCasse at [email protected] if you have any questions as you complete your enrollment for next year. ____________________________ Aim Higher Foundation - Application Now Open More Scholarships. More Students. Stronger Schools
