Kathy LaCasse

Welcome!    
My name is Kathy LaCasse. I work in the office, primarily in TADS admissions, registration, and financial assistance as well as Educate admin.  However, as with most office jobs, I wear a variety of hats and am happy to tackle many other projects that come our way!  I am so happy to be back working with this amazing staff!  I have three children who attended St. Peter's in NSP,  where my husband attended grade school.  All three have already graduated from college and are almost all gainfully employed - my youngest just graduated from college, so she is still searching.  My son also added a lovely daughter-in-law to the mix.  Our golden retriever/german shorthair pointer dog, Finn, was the favorite family member, but now shares his spotlight with the first grandchild, Amelia Jo.  When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my extended family and friends. I love music, binging tv series and game nights. Of course, I always love to work on a good spreadsheet - hence the love of my job!

Professional Background:  
I have a degree from the College of Saint Scholastica in Elementary Education (K-6), with a math minor. I began working as a middle school math teacher at another Catholic school for two years before having kids and becoming a full time mom.  When my youngest went to school full time, I worked as an admin at a tax firm for 8 years.  When I came across the opening at Saint John's, I knew I couldn't pass it up!  I have been fortunate enough to attend Catholic schools my entire life, starting here at Saint John's before moving to St. Jerome's and then on to Hill-Murray.

Education Philosophy: 
Education doesn't just happen in the classroom.  I believe a child has the most success when a strong community surrounds and supports their learning.
